My research, teaching and service are directed at two overarching goals:
1) helping environmental professionals make better environmental decisions;
2) building the next generation of environmmental leaders' capacities for
problem solving, collaboration and managing conflict.
Whether considering toxic pollution; sustainable food systems; large scale social-ecological systems; planning and management for natural and built environments or other environmental challenges, I believe that environmental managers require effective decision support tools that are backed by ecological, economic, political and social understanding.
I research, develop, practice and educate others about these tools.
