I am a planner. I assist communities to envision their future, chart a path to achieve it and make sure that future and journey are ecologically restorative, economically generative and socially just.
I am an educator. I create experiential learning opportunities that place students in high touch situations where they can observe, engage, synthesize and reflect. I teach environmental planning, policy and problem solving.
I am a scholar. I use the social-ecological lens to explore issues of engagement, conflict and decision making at community, watershed and regional scales. I often work at the intersections of energy, water, food and biodiversity.
